Is your child ready to rock?

“rock band classes are the ultimate supplement to your child’s musical journey”
- Guitar players can’t join the school orchestra
• Drum set players cannot join school wind ensembles
• Pop singers cannot rock out with old-fashioned school chorus programs
But at Allegro, your child can make better grades by learning how to play with others and you can get the noise out of your house!
These classes will be open to Allegro students ages 10-18 who are able to sing or play a few songs on their instrument.
Benefits of being a Rock Band student:
- 4 additional hours of music training each month! Parent Open Houses
• State of the art equipment
• Spacious rehearsal area with PA, Drums, Amps, and Keyboards.
• Affordable tuition
These classes will only be available to Allegro School of Music students. You must have your primary teacher’s approval to participate. If your teacher says your child is not ready yet, you can apply again in 6 months.
Rock Band FAQ’s
Who can participate in the classes?
Rock band classes are open to students enrolled in private lessons at Allegro School of Music ONLY.
How much do the classes cost?
Tuition is only $25.00 per 60 minute class. If you enroll before April 1st, 2012 we’ll give you $50.00 off your first month!
When are the classes held?
Classes will begin in June. Once per week for one hour. Classes are available on Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. or Saturdays at 11:00 A.M.
Where are the classes held?
Allegro School of Music Drum Room.
What ages are accepted?
10-18
Are beginners accepted?
No. Students need to be able to play or sing a few songs and have at least several months experience in private lessons before enrolling. If your child starts and the teacher decides they are not ready, we will let you know so that they can take a break from the classes and re-enroll later.
What instruments are accepted?
Guitar (3 per class), Bass, Drums, Keyboard, and Voice (1 per class)
How do you makeup missed Rock Band Classes?
Students can attend a Saturday makeup class for their instrument if they miss a rock band class.
Are there recitals?
The Rock Band will perform in the Allegro Recitals in December and May. There will be an open house for parents and friends in August.
Can parents observe rehearsals?
It’s important that the group does not have any distractions, so we ask that parents do not attend the rehearsals. The open houses and recitals will give you the chance to see your child’s progress.
Is there an attendance/behavior policy?
Yes. Allegro reserves the right to suspend classes for any student who misses too many classes, is tardy, or is a behavior problem. This also includes students who are not doing their homework and learning their songs. Students are expected to work on their songs with their private lesson instructor during the week!
Can my child bring in songs for the group to work on?
Yes. Any student is welcome to bring in songs for the group to play. To do so, they need to supply tablature or sheet music for all performers and a recording of the song for the teacher.
What does my child need to bring?
Guitarists and bassists need to bring their instrument. We provide the drums, amps, PA, microphones, and keyboard.
